October 1979, Steve and Lori Schwartz purchased a small bait tackle shop located on the White River. The building also housed their apartment. Living and working in the same place enabled their teens for success. The seasonal bait shop soon became open 7 days a week open 364 days a year. Open to serve bass anglers, catfish anglers and family fishing outings. Later they added propane sales and u-haul rentals to the services they offered.

In 1999 the river experienced a massive fish kill. Steve and Lori co- founded White river rescue 2000. The foundation raised over 150 thousand dollars to restock fish into the river. The fish fill also inspired Lori to create White River canoe company. The canoe company was the vessel to bring the people to enjoy the natural resources again. White river canoe company was later sold. It is still located on the banks of the White River. We offer Live bait, a full line of brand name tackle, Propane, U-haul rentals, and Motor home rentals as well.
